Osprey nest suspected in power outage that interrupted high school prom in Mashpee

MASHPEE – An Osprey nest is suspected of causing a power outage that affected 1,000 customers in Mashpee. The outage occurred about 9:30 PM Saturday. The Mashpee High School prom was in progress at the time. Luckily the building where the event was occurring had a generator so the prom was able to continue. Eversource hoped to have the outage restored by 11:15 PM. This was later updated to 2:00 AM.
