OSTERVILLE – A mariner spotted and reportedly pulled a person from the water off Sepuit Road in Osterville around 12:30 PM Thursday. The victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.
From Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire: At approximately 12 26 PM Thursday, the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department received a report from a boater in the area of Seapuit Road in Osterville of what appeared to be a body floating in the water.
Marine 1 was launched, and fire department personnel responded to the area. Upon arrival, the marine crew located an unresponsive female in the water with no pulse. The patient was immediately brought aboard Marine 1, and CPR was initiated.
The patient was subsequently transferred from the marine vessel to a waiting ambulance and transported to Cape Cod Hospital.
The Barnstable Police Department and the Barnstable Harbormaster assisted at the scene. The U.S. Coast Guard was also notified.
The incident remains under investigation, and no further information regarding the patient is available at this time.
