LUDLOW, MA – The owner of Alpha One, an aviation company, has confirmed a plane that crashed in Ludlow, MA killing two had taken off from Plymouth Municipal Airport where the company has a flight school and also rents planes. Flight tracking appeared to show the plane was on approach to Northampton Airport. The identities of the victims was not immediately released pending notification of the next of kin. Hampden County District Attorney Anthony Gulluni released the following statement: The Hampden District Attorney’s Office is investigating a fatal plane crash that occurred Saturday night in Ludlow.
On Saturday evening, Sept. 5, 2026, local and state authorities responded to the Ludlow area following a report of a missing aircraft. Following a search of the area, the aircraft was located in a wooded area off Center Street.
Two individuals were located deceased at the scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were notified and are responding to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Hampden District Attorney’s Office, in coordination with the Ludlow Police Department, Federal Aviation Administration, and National Transportation Safety Board
