Video: Pole fire leads to power outage in Falmouth for second time this week

FALMOUTH – A pole fire knocked out power to about 250 Eversource customers  in Falmouth. The pole caught fire on Mill Road. This comes after after Wednesday’s outage that left 8,000 customers with power.
Falmouth Fire-Rescue reported that Friday evening a call was received for a utility pole on fire on Mill Rd. First arriving Fire Rescue personnel found that a transformer had failed and cooling fluid from the transformer had caught fire and was leaking down the pole. Eversource was requested. Once the power was secured any remaining fire was extinguished. There were also several related power problems as a result of the incident in the area.

Elsewhere, 150 customers were out in Harwich in a separate outage.
