PROVINCETOWN – Rescuers were called to the West End Breakwater in Provincetown a slip and fall injury shortly after noon Friday. Paramedics were able to get the victim onto a vessel that navigated the shallow waters and then brought the victim to MacMillan Wharf where the ambulance was waiting.
This is the fourth such incident at the breakwater this month.

From Provincetown Police: The Provincetown Police Department and our public safety partners have responded to at least four rescue calls at the Provincetown Breakwater this month.
Please avoid the Breakwater when conditions are unsafe, and use extreme caution if you choose to go out.
A few important safety reminders:
• Check the tides and weather conditions before heading out.
• Be aware that rising tides can quickly cover portions of the Breakwater and make returning difficult or dangerous.
• Wear appropriate footwear—the rocks can be wet, uneven, and slippery.
• Avoid going out alone and let someone know where you are going.
• Bring a fully charged cell phone.
• If conditions begin to change, turn around early—don’t wait.
• Never put yourself in danger attempting to rescue someone else. Call 911 in an emergency.
