Road Rage incident with knife leads to charges in Sandwich

SANDWICH – Sandwich Police report that a road rage incident involving a knife resulted in the arrest of 39-year-old Susan Kettell of Sandwich on several felony charges.

Last Saturday, the Sandwich Police Department received a call that a blue Ford Explorer was driving erratically. It was reported that the Explorer attempted to crash their vehicle into the caller’s vehicle. The Explorer then pulled behind the caller at a red traffic signal. The female operator began waving a double edged dagger knife out of the window. She exited the Explorer, removed her clothing, and ran bare chested towards the victim flailing the dagger. The caller drove away.

The Sandwich Police responded and located the Explorer. The operator, identified as Susan Kettell was intoxicated. The dagger involved was located by officers inside the Explorer. A male passenger, also a Sandwich resident, was intoxicated and placed in Protective Custody.

As a result, Kettell was placed under arrest and charged with OUI 2nd Offense, Operating on a Revoked Driver’s License, Three counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Double Edged Knife, Lewd and Lascivious Conduct, and several other motor vehicle violations.

The incident is being investigated by Officer Ryan McCracken.
