WAREHAM – From Wareham Police: On Monday May 6, at about 6:00 p.m. Officers Nate Aronson and Charles Pillsbury arrested William Walsh, 40, of East Wareham, following a disturbance in the emergency room of Tobey Hospital. He was charged with disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, intimidation of a witness and threats to commit a crime. During the disturbance, Mr. Walsh belligerently told Officer Aronson that he was going to take his gun and shoot him. In addition, he clenched his fists appearing to the officer that a physical attack was imminent. He was removed from the hospital and brought to police headquarters for processing.
On Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. Officer Stephen Harrison, while on patrol observed a vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on Cranberry Highway near Red Brook Road. He further observed the vehicle strike an embankment near the Star Light Motel and go airborne, crashing down on two wheels, crossing the entire highway. Officer Harrison noted that he believed the vehicle was going to flip over, however it continued on, and finally pulled into a nearby parking lot. After making various observations, the driver, Brian Smith, 41, of Pocasset was placed under arrest and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a vehicle, speeding and a marked lanes violation.
Later at 7:30 p.m. Officer Joseph Cardoza arrested Sean Kelly, 37, of Wareham on an active warrant following a motor vehicle stop on Cranberry Highway near the Dollar Tree store.
On Thursday May 9, at 7:30 a.m. Samantha Bergeron, 25, of Wareham was arrested for shoplifting by Officer Ryan Turner at Cumberland Farms of Depot Street.
Later at about 5:30 p.m. Officer Christopher Corner arrested David Roberts, 41, of West Wareham on an active warrant. Officer Corner was aware of a warrant for Mr. Roberts and noticed him sitting in a parking lot on Cranberry Highway.
At about 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Officer Nate Aronson observed a vehicle that had a license plate on it that he knew belonged to another car on Cranberry Highway. The vehicle pulled into 5 Star Gateway Gas Station and after a brief investigation determined that the operator had given a false name and had warrants for her arrest. Briana Raponi, 32, of Wareham, was arrested and charged with,
attaching license plates, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, giving a false name to a police officer and three active warrants.
A short while later, at about 7:30 p.m. officers responded to Thirteenth Street in Onset, for a report of a male who had exposed himself to a female. Jack Ikkela, 54, of Onset was placed under arrest and charged with open and gross lewdness as a result of the incident. The arresting officers were Karl Baptiste and Joseph Cardoza.
