CAPE COD – Snow continues this afternoon as the storm intensifies and begins to move away. We continue to monitor the winds but luckily it appears there was no major coastal flooding. Check back to this article for updates.
11 p.m. update: 174 customers out in South Wellfleet. Eversource working to restore service.
6 p.m. update: All larger outages have been restored with only isolated ones remaining. Stubborn snow band continuing to affect the outer Cape as seen in this video Orleans Police shot at Skaket Beach:
5 p.m. update: Provincetown Police report that EverSource advised them that there was a switch issue on Bradford Street which was causing an issue with the delivery of power. A trouble truck line crew was dispatched at 2:17 PM and by 5 PM the outage there had been cleared. Earlier, about a hour after high tide, Provincetown Police shared this video from MacMillan Wharf:
4 p.m. update: Yarmouth Police report that the wind has increased and has knocked a large tree down on Strawberry Lane in Yarmouth Port. The tree is on live wires and the road is closed. The wind has also knocked a large tree down on Driftwood Lane and the road is blocked near Valhalla Drive. The Harwich outage has been repaired but 883 customers are now out in Sandwich.

3 p.m. update: Several local agencies are posting video clips along the shore. We’ll have views from Eastham and Provincetown coming up but here is a still and video from Rock Harbor posted by Orleans Fire-Rescue:

2:30 p.m. update: 1.375 customers out in Harwich. Police say it should be short while crews finish repairs of down wires on Queen Anne Road. 429 out in Provincetown. 239 in Dennis and 135 in Yarmouth.

2 p.m. update: Orleans Police report near whiteout conditions as a band of snow passes through the area. Wind gust to 56 MPH in Woods Hole. 300 customers without power in Dennis.
1:15 p.m. update: 85 customers without power in Dennis, 20 in Chatham. Brewster Fire checking reports of tree down on Route 6A near Tubman Road.

1 p.m. update: Bourne Police updating Sagamore Bridge after briefly closing the eastbound lanes, officials reported as of 1 p.m. all lanes were reopened on the bridge.

12:30 p.m. update: Crash reported on Route 6 westbound near exit 8. Vehicle in woods with one person being taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation.

12:15 p.m. update: A problem with rebar sticking out of the concrete on the Sagamore Bridge has forced the bridge down to one lane in each direction. Expect heavy delays in the area and use the Bourne Bridge if possible. The US Army Corps of Engineers are on location attempting to repair the issue. It is currently unknown how long the lanes will be restricted.

8 a.m. update: Radar and surface reports confirm snow and low visibility on the outer Cape. No power outage reports at this time.
The Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee (BCREPC) held a planning conference call at 8 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2017, to review the winter weather affecting Cape Cod.
STATUS: The BCREPC Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) was activated at 4 a.m. Monday by the Barnstable County All Hazard Incident Management Team. The MACC will continue to monitor conditions and be available for resource requests from local agencies. There will be no activation of the Regional Emergency Shelter System.
Travel is expected to be very dangerous during the day on Monday. The BCREPC urges drivers and pedestrians to exercise extreme caution. Do not go near any downed wires or poles because they might be energized.
