TRURO – From Truro Police: It is with heavy hearts that the members of the Truro Police Department say goodbye to one of our own, K9 Ella.
K9 Ella proudly served alongside her partner, Lieutenant Steven Raneo,(pictured) throughout a long and successful career. Together, they trained, worked, and served not only the Town of Truro, but several surrounding communities as well.
During her career, Ella served as a narcotics detection K9 and a Friendly Find K9, using her training to assist law enforcement while also bringing comfort, smiles, and plenty of tail wags to those fortunate enough to meet her.
Ella was much more than a working K9. She was a trusted partner, a loyal companion, and a beloved member of the Truro Police Department family. Her presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of working with her or meeting her along the way.
Lieutenant Raneo would like to extend his sincere gratitude to the citizens of Truro and to everyone who supported Ella throughout her career and helped make her service so successful. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the Animal Hospital of Orleans and their amazing team for the care of Ella throughout her career and in her retirement.
Rest peacefully, K9 Ella. Your faithful service, gentle spirit, and joyful presence left an enduring mark on all who knew you. You stood beside your partner proud, served your community, and touched countless lives with unwavering loyalty and love. Run free sweet girl. You were deeply loved, forever cherished, and will never be forgotten.
