WELLFLEET – From Wellfleet Fire: It is with profound sadness that the Wellfleet Fire Department announces the passing of Retired Fire Chief Richard “Rich” Pauley, who passed away last night.
Chief Pauley dedicated many years of his life to the Wellfleet Fire Department and to protecting and serving the community of Wellfleet. Throughout his career, his leadership, dedication, and commitment to the fire service helped shape our department and left a lasting impact on the members who had the privilege of serving alongside him.
For those of us in the fire service, the bonds we form extend far beyond the walls of the fire station. We are a family, and today our fire department family mourns the loss of one of our own.
On behalf of Chief Joseph Cappello and all the members of the Wellfleet Fire Department, we extend our deepest condolences to Chief Pauley’s family, friends, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
Chief Pauley’s service to our department and our community will always be remembered.
Rest easy, Chief Pauley. Your service is complete. We’ll take it from here.
