Woman, dog safe after unexpected swim at White Crest Beach in Wellfleet

WELLFLEET – A dog apparently just had to go for a swim in Wellfleet late Wednesday morning at White Crest Beach off Ocean View Drive. The dog’s owner reportedly went in after the dog. The woman had a flotation device and was able to make progress back to shore as fire crews deployed assets. The woman and dog were able to make it to shore and were evaluated by EMTs for possible hypothermia.
