VIDEO: Woman suffers possible broken leg in latest breakwater rescue in Provincetown

PROVINCETOWN – A woman fell while walking the West End Breakwater in Provincetown around 9 AM. The victim reportedly suffered a possible broken leg. With the tide all the way out, rescuers had to bring a stokes basket to the scene about halfway out the breakwater. After putting the victim on a backboard, she was carried back to the rotary at the end of Commercial Street where the ambulance was waiting. She was then taken to Cape Cod Hospital. This is the latest in a series of rescues at the breakwater this summer.

This photo shows how low some of the dips in the breakwater are. (Click photo to enlarge).
