February Fun-cation!

Even in the cold dreariness of February, Cape Cod still brims over with exciting and engaging activities for kids during February vacation week. From nature explorations to learning about our resident animals, Cape Cod offers a whole lot of fun in February. So, if you’re looking for some family-friendly February fun, take a look at a few suggestions that we have to do here.

Cape Cod Museum of Natural History
The museum opens mid-month, just in time for school vacation week. Bring the kids to learn about the animals that call the Cape their home. Other special February vacation events at Cape Cod Museum of Natural History include birdwatching, films, arts and crafts, nature walks, and interactive presentations. Note: Reservations may be required for some special school vacation week events. For more information, click here.

Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary
Foxes, squirrels, and wild turkeys are pretty common. But we know there are many more animals that live or pass through the wildlife sanctuary. Spend school vacation week learning about the critters that prowl around throughout the winter and hone your nature detective skills. Play games, explore the trails and create artwork while discovering how different types of animals survive the cold. For more information, click here.

Explore Long Point with The Trustees
The Trustees of Reservations welcomes the whole family to take part in these education and fun activities. Join the group at Long Point Wildlife Refuge where they will have seasonal games, crafts, and hands-on learning activities to keep your young ones entertained. Start your adventure at the Visitor Center, where a Trustees Educator will lead you on a winter wildlife scavenger hunt. Can we find an otter trail? How many waterfowl can we spot from the observation blind? Is there anyone living in our owl box? Let’s find out! Who’s at our bird feeder? Play backyard bird bingo, and make your very own bird feeder to take home with you! For more information, click here.

Visit the Cape Codder Resort
During school vacation weeks, the Cape Codder staff never ceases to impress. They feature interactive activities for the whole family! The exciting vacation week schedules are packed full of fun for children of all ages, from reptile and animal shows to ice cream socials and crafts. On The Deck, relax under the stars with great live entertainment and music by local artists. Each night (weather permitting) they stoke up the bonfire and show a wide variety of child-appropriate movies. Shoot some hoops or play a fun game of pickle ball on the outdoor courts. And, of course, everyone loves the indoor/outdoor water park and Rainbow Falls Heated Outdoor Pool. For more information, click here.
