A luxury and a delicacy… Oysters are farmed all over the world, but some of the best grow in the waters right here on Cape Cod. Although there are plenty of recipes which cast the oyster in the starring role, we feel the oyster is best when eaten freshly shucked and served on the half shell!
Here are a few of the most famous oysters you can find on the Cape.

When you are out to eat, make sure you ask your server where your oysters come from! You might be surprised!
You’ll want to check with your local restaurants as to where they get their oysters. Many restaurants label exactly where their oysters are from to leave no doubts!
If you’re looking to buy your own a the market and bring them home, many markets, like restaurants, will label exactly where they came from. As a word of caution, bringing them home means you have to shuck. Make sure you have the right equipment for opening the shells or you could end up in the ER with a cut to your hand!
