WEST TISBURY – A nine-unit housing development on Martha’s Vineyard is receiving support from the Commonwealth’s Community Scale Housing Initiative.
The Baker administration announced 2.2 million dollars in inaugural awards through the initiative last week.
The CSHI, through Mass-housing and the Department of Housing and Community Development, is providing the Vineyard project with 900,000 dollars.
The development, dubbed Scotts Grove Apartments, is sponsored by the Island Housing Trust Corporation and is set to be built in West Tisbury with the additional support of 1.4 million dollars in matching funds through the town’s Community Preservation Act.
Once completed, Scotts Grove Apartments will offer affordable housing to families across a range of incomes.
Housing projects in Arlington and Norwell are also set to receive funding through this round of the Commonwealth’s Community Scale Housing Initiative.
