Barnstable to Update Town’s Local Comprehensive Plan

HYANNIS – The Local Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Barnstable is being updated according to the Local Comprehensive Planning Committee.

The LCP was made as a town-wide land use plan that will guide Barnstable’s future over the next ten years.

A draft of the Vision Statement has been developed by the committee in collaboration with the project consultant, Dodson & Flinker, using public outreach data defined within the Existing Conditions Report, and community feedback.

Some of the plans from the draft include promoting a diverse economy, committing to providing affordable housing, and providing access to high-quality education.

The draft Phase 1 Vision Statement is now open for public comment through close of business on Thursday, June 15.

To view the draft, visit the Town’s Local Comprehensive Plan website.
