Barnstable Village Improvements Project Construction Beginning September

BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable Village Improvements Project is scheduled to begin early September and aims to improve pedestrian access and traffic safety, as well as rehabilitate infrastructure while enhancing the streetscape.

The planned project includes new sidewalks, landscaping, decorative street lights, drainage, pavement, crosswalks, median islands, and traffic signals.

The area will include Main Street from Rendezvous Lane to Mill Way, and Mill Way from Main Street to Barnstable Harbor Marina.

Traffic will continue to use the roads throughout construction. Motorists should expect lane closures with police details to direct traffic.

The construction begins September 3 and will continue through to May 2020.

Detours may occur and local residents will be made aware of when and where they are.
