Bus Trip To Oppose Offshore Drilling Set for Later This Month

HYANNIS – A bus trip for people who wish to attend a protest of plans to use Bay State waters for the extraction of oil and gas will take place on February 27th

The purpose is to demonstrate opposition to plans by the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Management. The rally is being sponsored by the Massachusetts Sierra Club’s Cape Cod Group and 350 Mass Cape Cod.

There will be a mid-afternoon press conference and rally, featuring speakers from across the state.

Participants are encouraged to bring signs and wear items with the “Hands Off Our Oceans” message, such as snorkeling gear, life preservers,  and more.

Tickets are $25 and should be purchased in advance, as a sellout is expected. Anyone who wishes to attend but is worried about the price can inquire about donated tickets.

Similar events will take place across the country.
