Cape Cod Bird Club to Offer Several Guided Walks in May

BREWSTER – It’s the Cape Cod Bird Club’s busiest time of year, primarily because it’s one of the busiest times for birds.

The spring is prime for birding, since millions of individuals and hundreds of species are on the move from their wintering grounds in South and Central America to their breeding grounds in the Northeast and, especially, Cape Cod.

The dates for free, guided walks in May, meeting at the Beech Forest parking lot in Provincetown at 8 a.m., are as follows:

Saturday, May 6, Judith Davis – [email protected]

Sunday, May 7, Blair Nikula – [email protected]

Saturday, May 13, Ed Banks – [email protected]

Saturday, May 20, Judith Davis – [email protected]

Sunday, May 21, Peter Crosson – [email protected]

Those interested are asked to contact the above guides prior to the date.

Stefanie Paventy, [email protected], will lead a walk Friday, May 19 at 6:30 a.m. at Peterson Farm in Falmouth.

The club’s monthly meeting will take place at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Route 6A, Brewster, on May 8th at 7 p.m.

The event is open to the public and features Shawn Carey, a birder who will display his experiences birding in Iceland.
