Cape Cod National Seashore To Host Events With Outer Cape Choral

WELLFLEET – The Cape Cod National Seashore has announced two special events featuring the 140 member ‘Outer Cape Coral’ community chorus.

The first event entitled ‘Sun, Sand, and Sea; The Beauty and Inspiration of Cape Cod’ will take place on May 6th at 6:30p.m. at the Salt Pond Visitors Center. The event will feature a farmer, a clammer, an art historian, a park ranger, and a musician—all members of the Outer Cape Chorale, who will share stories of Cape Cod’s beauty.

It will also include recitations of Mary Oliver poems, as well as an art show by 20 visual artists from the chorale.

The second event entitled ‘Walk: The Poetry of Mary Oliver at Blackwater Pond’ will take place on May 9th at 1 p.m. at the Beech Forest Trail parking area, at Race Point Road in Provincetown.

This event will feature a 1 1⁄2 hour, 1 mile walk with Ranger Jody Anastasio and writer Kathleen Henry, both members of the Outer Cape Chorale, will explore the place that inspired several of Mary Oliver’s poems.

Both National Seashore programs are free and open to the public. Fore more information, you can log on to nps.gov/caco.
