HYANNIS – Friday marked the beginning of the Cape Symphony’s second yearly chamber music ensemble, Nth Degree.

The five-concert season will feature shows at the First Congregational Church in Chatham and Falmouth Academy, all led by Concertmaster Jae Cosmos Lee.

Last year’s season, featuring the music of Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms, sold out completely, according to Lee. He said the success of the program relies on its intimate setting, allowing audiences a portrait of the musicians behind the music.

“Music is all about presentation. I try to give a spin on where the people come from, how they have come about, why our program did it,” Lee said.

This year’s season is entitled “Kaleidoscope” due to its eclectic mix of composers both bygone and still living, he said.

The works of George Crumb and other American composers will be spotlighted in the next show on January 9 at Falmouth Academy.

All Falmouth concerts start at 7:30 p.m. They are Saturday, January 9, Saturday, March 12, and Saturday, June 4.

All Chatham concerts begin 3 p.m.; Sunday, March 13, and Sunday, June 5.

Tickets are available for purchase at capesymphony.org.
