HARWICH – Christopher Clark will be stepping down as the Town Administrator of Harwich.
Clark, who has served in the position since 2014, cited other employment endeavors and wishing to be more available to his family as the reasoning behind his decision in a statement read to the Harwich Board of Selectmen this week.
“I’ve enjoyed my time in Harwich, and think the world of the staff and the board members that I have had the chance to interact with during my time,” Clark said.
Clark looked back at his time spent in the position fondly, adding that his tenure saw the establishment of fiscal stability, as well as the solutions to problems surrounding things such as wastewater and schools.
“I’ve always had a standard where I like to think I leave things better than I found them, and I think I have met that standard,” he said.
“But, I also think it’s time that we make a change.”
Clark will take a leave of absence before transitioning into a consulting role in January.
His last day on the job is November 15, but he will compensated throughout the remaining time on his contract, which expires at the end of June.
The decision was reached at a mutual understanding between Clark and the board.
