FALMOUTH – A dangerousness hearing for the alleged shooter of two Falmouth police officers was postponed on Thursday until later in the month.

Malik Koval, 21, has been held without bail pending the hearing, which will now take place on August 29 in Falmouth District Court.

Koval is accused of shooting two police officers during an altercation in Falmouth July 27th. Both officers are expected to make a full recovery.

Koval’s mother, Kimberly Koval and her son Marcus Maseda were in court Wednesday for pre-trial hearings, their next court date is September 28th.

Kimberly Koval and Marcus Masada are charged with assaulting a police officer, interference with police and intimidation of a witness.

Police say Officers Donald DeMiranda and Ryan Moore were hindered by Maseda and the elder Koval as they attempted to address an issue with Malik Koval.

As the officers were involved with Mesada and Kimberly Koval, Malik Koval allegedly retrieved a gun and fired at the officers, hitting them both.

The officers were responding to reports of a disturbance at the Ashley Drive home.

Malik Koval is charged with disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, two counts of assault to murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
