BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable School Department will hold a dedication ceremony Wednesday for an early learning center named after a 19th century farmer and philanthropist.
The dedication of the new Enoch Cobb Early Learning Center at Hyannis West Elementary School begins at 1 p.m.
When Enoch Cobb died in 1876, he bequeathed land in his will to benefit Barnstable Public Schools.
A designated early learning center had been a topic of discussion by the School Committee the past several years.
In spring 2014, a design was produced for modular construction of the center.
The center opened for all Pre-K students on September 3.
