Dennis Town Administrator Announces Retirement

Dennis Town SealDENNIS – Dennis town administrator Richard White sent his letter of resignation to the board of selectmen and municipal departments this week.

Selectman Chair Paul McCormick read parts of his letter to the board at a Tuesday meeting.

“He is going to be retiring as of September 23rd, and to quote his letter: ‘Dennis is an amazing place to live, play and visit, I appreciate greatly with respect the many kindnesses that have been sent my way by the citizens; they embraced, supported and encouraged me without exception,’” he read.

White served in the role for about seven years.

Before his role in Dennis, White served as town manager for Lexington, budget and grants analyst in Arlington and Hartford, Conn., and assistant town manager in Winchester.

Selectmen did not discuss steps to replace White at the Tuesday meeting.
