FOXBORO – The New England Patriots will kick off the 2017 NFL season in Foxboro Thursday night by raising another Super Bowl champions banner at Gillette Stadium.

The 2016 Patriots defied the odds, mounting the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history in a 34-28 win over the Atlanta Falcons in overtime. The team overcame Quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game deflategate suspension en route to an unprecedented fifth title for Brady and Head Coach Bill Belichick.
