FALMOUTH – An East Falmouth man was arraigned today in Falmouth District Court on numerous assault and weapons charges, including assault to murder and kidnapping.
Falmouth police arrested Damien Andrews, 31, last night after he allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and threatened to kill her before demanding a ride home.
Police said Andrews was picked up in his car around 7 p.m. while a search warrant for his Pinecrest Beach Drive home was being prepared.
A search of Andrew’s home turned up a .38 caliber revolver, 285 grams of marijuana and a digital scale, according to police.
Police said the suspect claimed the weapon was a “blank gun” and the firearm will be analyzed to determine its configuration.
Andrews was charged with assault to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a pregnant woman, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, kidnapping, intimidation of a witness, firearm without a FID card, possession with intent to distribute a class D drug and firearm violation with three prior violent/drug crimes.
