Falmouth Chamber Prepares for Christmas Parade on Sunday

FALMOUTH – The 56th annual Falmouth Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade begins at noon on Sunday.

The parade route runs from the Dillingham Avenue and Davis Straits intersection to the Village Green, traveling along Main Street.

Parking along Main Street downtown is prohibited from 8 a.m. until approximately 2:30 p.m.

Dillingham Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. until around 1:30 p.m.

Davis Straits between the set of lights at Jones Road and the Friendly’s restaurant will also be closed at 11:30 a.m. until the parade concludes, along with Main Street between Friendly’s and the Village Green.

Parade staging starts at 8:30 a.m. on Dillingham Avenue. Parade floats and vehicles should arrive from Gifford Street only from then to 10:30 a.m.

People walking or riding in the parade should arrive at the Gus Canty Recreation Center to be dropped off between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Parking is available for parade participants only at the center, as well as the Island Queen lot on Scranton Avenue. The Chamber of Commerce is asking people to carpool if possible.

The rain date for the parade is December 15. A weather-related announcement will be made available at www.falmouthchamber.com if there is a cancellation, along with all other relevant information.
