Family Pantry Toy Day is 2 Weeks Away

HARWICH–The Family Pantry of Cape Cod will be distributing toys to children on December 15 from 8:30 a.m. to noon during their annual Toy Day.

Children who are registered with the Family Pantry will be eligible to receive games, toys, pajamas, and gift cards. A bike lottery will also be held.

“It’s anything from what’s current and hot this month to the standard stuff; balls and dolls, and just everything that you can imagine,” said Executive Director of the Family Pantry Christine Menard.

The gifts are provided to the children thanks to donations from people across the area. Menard expressed gratitude for the volunteers and donors who make this drive possible.

“Sometimes, that’s the only toys they get,” she continued.

“We’ve had that told to us countless times; ‘If it wasn’t for this, we would not have a Christmas.'”

If interested in donating for the drive, toys can be dropped off at the Family Pantry warehouse on Queen Anne Road or a number of other businesses across the town. Donations must be new and unwrapped.

Donations via text messaging are also available now. Texting “PANTRY” to 80100 will lead to a $10 donation, and texting “HUNGER” to the same number will lead to a $20 donation.
