Nantucket Fire Department Awarded Federal Grant

NANTUCKET – Firefighters on Nantucket have received federal funding to aid their operations.

The department was given just over $43,000 for their Generation Safe program, which was created to aid residents 65 years of age and older with home safety.

The grants were from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, who recently awarded nearly $7 million to a total of 30 fire departments across the nation.
