Hyannis VA Clinic Set to Host Open House Saturday

HYANNIS – The VA Medical Center’s Hyannis Clinic and the Cape Cod Vet Center will host an open house and veteran town hall meeting this weekend.

The event will provide a forum for veterans and family members to raise concerns or questions, and receive responses from medical center and Vet Center leaders. It will also serve as an opportunity for vets to receive a tour of the facility and learn about the services which they provide.

“Our community clinics provide accessible primary and mental health care for Veterans and the Vet Center provides confidential counseling for combat Veterans and victims of military sexual trauma,” said Dr. Susan MacKenzie, director of the Providence VAMC.

“We invite area veterans to come learn about their local VA facilities, and tell us how we’re doing.”

The open house runs from 9 a.m. to noon at the Hyannis VA Clinic on Saturday, May 12th with the town hall forum to follow at 1 PM at the Cape Cod Vet Center on West Main Street.

The Hyannis VA clinic serves more than 4,000 area Veterans, hosting more than 19,000 outpatient visits annually.

The clinic is part of the Providence VA Medical Center system, which provides a full range of patient care services in the areas of medicine, surgery and mental health, including more than 30 sub-specialty clinics.
