Vineyard Youth Organization Recognized for Performance, Expanding Services

OAK BLUFFS – The Island Wide Youth Collaborative has received recognition as a top Family Resource Center in Massachusetts, and with that comes state funding to allow for expansion.

A part of Martha’s Vineyard Community Services, the collaborative is one of four FRCs in the state that will be able to convert from a “micro” program model to “full-service.”

This entails more full time employees and an annual funding increase from $327,000 to $663,000 to account for expanded services and staff members.

Data from the 2019 Massachusetts Family Resource Center Program Evaluation Report shows that the collaborative had the third most service units performed by all Massachusetts FRCs, accounting for 11.8% of all statewide units.
