EAST DENNIS – On August 23, at 7:30 p.m., the Jacob Sears Memorial Library in East Dennis will host a talk by the acclaimed author Roselee Blooston.

Bloooston’s forthcoming book Dying in Dubai, a memoir of marriage, mourning, and the Middle East, will be published in October 2016.

In advance reviews, Dying in Dubai has been hailed as “gorgeously written,” “riveting,” and “clear-eyed.”

This unique pre-release event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.

The author will be on hand to sign advance copies of her book.

In the opening pages of Dying in Dubai, Blooston is stunned to hear of the sudden death of her beloved husband halfway across the globe.

The writer sets off for Dubai, a glittering city of world-class hotels and global retailing in the midst of the Arabian Desert—”Rodeo Drive on Mars.”

Her fifteen-day journey through a profoundly disorienting environment is followed by a thirteen-month voyage to self-discovery through the equally foreign terrain of grief.

Blooston is an award-winning writer whose plays have been produced in New York, across the country, and at the Edinburgh Festival, and broadcast on Voice of America.

Her short stories, essays, and articles have been published in national magazines, journals, and anthologies.
