League of Women Voters to Host Ranked Choice Voting Fourm

DENNIS PORT – The League of Women Voters of Cape Cod will hold a forum Thursday in Dennis Port on ranked choice voting.

The public is welcome to attend the event at the Cape Cod Community Media Center from 5:30 to 7 p.m. to learn about the different voting system.

Ranked choice voting is an increasingly common election method that allows voters to rank candidates in order of choice. Those rankings ensure that as many voters as possible will help elect a candidate they support.

Under the voting system, if a voter’s first choice can’t win their vote changes to a second choice and so on until one candidate wins more than 50 percent of the vote.

Joel Paul of Voter Choice Mass was invited to give a presentation on Ranked Choice Voting.

The presentation will be followed by a question & answer session.
