Barnstable County Commissioners are urging the US Department of Transportation to take action in getting funding for the Bourne Bridge replacement project with major maintenance looming. The Sagamore Bridge replacement project has been funded but no money yet has been set aside for the Bourne Bridge. County Commissioner Mark Forest says the state and Army Corps of Engineers has two applications out for a combined total of over a billion dollars, about half needed for the project.
