CHATHAM – Chatham’s section of Nauset Beach opens to Overs Sand Vehicles Thursday at noon after a stretch of closures due to shorebirds.
Commonly called North Beach, the area is a nesting site for state and federal protected Piping Plovers and Least Terns.
Access may still be restricted in some specific areas, and all visitors should follow posted signage and instructions from beach staff.
Daily monitoring will continue for birds.
