Local Police Departments to Participate in National Night Out

BOURNE – The Bourne and Yarmouth police departments will be hosting National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3.

Bourne will be hosting their event at the Buzzards Bay Park from 6:00-8:00pm.

Burgers and hotdogs will be provided, and attendees will have the opportunity to take a look at the vehicles and equipment used by the department.

“Everybody was very excited to get on board and show our support for the community, and get out there and talk to everybody,” said Operations Lieutenant John Stowe.

The celebration in Yarmouth will take place at Mattacheese Middle School from 5:30-7:30pm.

They will be providing food and drinks, and are featuring a demonstration by the Yarmouth Police K9 Unit and the Cape Cod Regional SWAT team.

The Town of Mashpee’s Police Department will also be holding a Night Out, separate from the National Night Out, which will take place on August 17 from 5:00-7:00pm.

National Night Out occurs in cities and towns throughout America as a way to strengthen relationships between communities and first responders.
