Lynch Honored With Public Service Award

HYANNIS – Barnstable’s Town Manager has some new hardware.

Tom Lynch was honored with this year’s Joseph Moakley Public Service award in a ceremony at Suffolk University last week. The award recognizes those who exhibit outstanding work in the public sector.

Lynch’s last day in Barnstable is June 30, when his contract expires. He announced last year he would not seek a new contract after a majority of the Town Council voted to look for a new Town Manager.

The Town Council is expected to announce the five finalists for the position at their meeting this week.
