Martha’s Vineyard Hospital Releases Update on Measles Case

ThinkstockPhotos-458248677OAK BLUFFS – Martha’s Vineyard Hospital has issued an update regarding the young boy diagnosed with measles while visiting the island.

According to the hospital’s update, the boy was considered infectious between June 8 and 17, during which time the boy visited the following locations:

West Tisbury Public Library, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.;

Aquinnah Library, June 9 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and June 11, 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.;

Martha’s Vineyard Airport Laundromat in West Tisbury, June 12 from 1 to 5 p.m.;

Sharky’s Cantina in Oak Bluffs, June 16 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.; and

Ryan’s Family Amusements in Oak Bluffs, June 16 from 5:30 to 9:30.

The hospital updated that the boy did not visit the Chilmark Library or playground.

Free immunizations will be provided from 5 to 9 p.m. today in the hospital’s Doctor’s wing.
