HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts dropped another cent over the past week.
AAA Northeast reports that self-serve, regular unleaded is selling for an average of $2.59 per gallon in the Bay State.
That price is two cents higher than the national average and 25 cents lower than at the same time last year.
“As an East Coast storm, Hurricane Dorian is not threatening major oil and gas infrastructure so its impact is localized to its path along the east coast,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.
“For New England and the rest of the country, demand, which remains high, is chipping away at supply, but not at a high enough rate to increase gas prices.”
According to GasBuddy.com, prices on Cape Cod are between $2.47 and $2.99.
