MV Community Services Executive Director to Retire by Next Summer

OAK BLUFFS–Executive Director of MV Community Services Julie Fay is set to retire by summer 2020, per an announcement by the board of directors this week.

Fay notably oversaw the growth of the organization’s revenue via long-term state projects such as the Island Wide Youth Collaborative and the Island Intervention Center.

Fay reflected on her time with MV Community Services and the people she worked with along the way.

“They are just truly a spectacular group of individuals, very passionate and very caring for the folks that we serve on the island,” she said.

Even with her impending retirement, Fay is working to secure future programs, notably a joint venture with Martha’s Vineyard Hospital called the Red House Project.

“It’s a recovery support center, it’s a brand new contract that we received this past spring from the Department of Public Health,” Fay explained.

“We’ll be working on getting that up and running over the next month or two.”

The board of directors launched a search committee to find a new executive director. Fay intends to stay on board throughout the process to ensure a seamless transition.
