Nantucket Historical Association Plans Spring Vacation Activities

BB_Nantucket_MainStreet_Summer2015NANTUCKET – April school vacation is right around the corner, and with it marks the return of Spring Vacation Days, a free program offered by the Nantucket Historical Association during school vacation week.

The program will run from Monday April 18th to Friday 22nd, from 1 to 5 p.m. in the Discovery Room at the Whaling Museum located at 13 Broad Street.

The Discovery Room will come alive with spring fever, as each day children can enjoy take-home crafts, and each day will also have themes based on different NHA historical sites including Greater Light, Oldest House, Old Mill and Fire Hose Cart House.

NHA Chair of Education Angela Grove says the Discovery Room will have its regular toys and games, but what makes the week special, is the crafts that will highlight historic properties on Nantucket.

The Spring Vacation Days program is made possible through a grant from the Nantucket Golf Association.

It’s free for all children and their families, however children must be accompanied by an adult.
