HYANNIS – NOAA Fisheries has increased the commercial quota and recreational harvest limit for scup for 2018.

The commercial quota has been increased by 38 percent with a 41 percent jump in harvest limit for recreational fishermen.

The limits were raised due to an increase in stock size.

NOAA is also reducing the catch limits for commercial summer flounder by 2.9 percent to account for 2016 overages, but the quota is still more than 13 percent higher than last year.
