HYANNIS – Nobody was hurt after a car caught on fire Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts across the street from Barnstable High School.

Hyannis fire crews were able to knock down the blaze after a few minutes on scene.

Two women and two dogs were in the car but were able to escape unharmed.

Hyannis Deputy Fire Chief Dean Melanson says the incident is considered accidental, with the fire most likely stemming from a mechanical issue.
