HYANNIS – Today and Tomorrow, The Northeast Sea Glass Expo will take place in Hyannis.
The event features over 40 artist from all across Cape Cod and the country who make all kinds of art and jewelry out of sea glass as well as lectures, raffles, and contests.
“We have over 40 artists coming from all over the country, we have three or four coming from California, some from the Carolinas and Florida, a lot from the Cape, and some from Maine and New Hampshire,” Said event founder Debbie Crowley.
“Also we have some artists coming from the great lakes because believe it or not the great lakes do have sea glass.”
The expo will also feature the third annual Mermaid Cocktail Soiree, which allows patrons to come dressed up as Mermaids.
Traditionally the expo takes place in October, but this year organizers decided to try holding it in July.
“I think if you come, you’ll be pleasantly surprised and shocked at what people can make by finding items on the beach that most people just walk by on a daily basis,” Crowley continued.
The event is set to take place today, July 27th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tomorrow, July 28th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis, located at 35 Scudder Avenue.
The Mermaid Cocktail Soiree will take place tonight at the Cabana Tent and Lobby Bar at the Resort and Conference Center beginning at 7 p.m.
