ORLEANS – Towns across the Cape are faced with wastewater challenges, and Orleans is no different.
A group in town has been working since last summer to investigate the future of the town’s water quality plan.
“What we’ve got is a general consensus to move forward on an overall conceptual plan which will blend some of the traditional sewering techniques with some new emerging what would be called non-traditional techniques,” said Orleans Selectman David Dunford, who is a part of the working group.
Dunford added that the plan is in the very early stages, and there’s no estimate on cost as of this point. He said some basic questions still need to be answered.
“How bad or how good is our water? We need to be precise on that in terms of our water quality so we know where we are and where we need to go.”
A public forum will be held to discuss the issue on April 13 at 3:30 at the Orleans Senior Center.
