Outer Cape Health Services Asked to Present Programs at International Healthcare Improvement Summit

HARWICH PORT – Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) was recently selected to present two model programs at the 18th Annual Institute for Healthcare Improvement Summit on Improving Patient Care in the Office Practice and the Community, April 21-22 in Orlando, Florida.

The event invites over 800 health professionals from across the world to discuss practical solutions for change across the industry.

The two programs will focus on OCHS community navigator and risk reduction programs.

The former addresses residents with behavioral health and substance abuse issues and connects them with services.

The latter program is tasked with improving the safe prescription of opioids for patients with chronic pain. That session at the event will share best practices based on OCHS experience and a “team-based care model.”

OCHS operates community health centers in Harwich, Wellfleet and Provincetown with primary care, specialty and urgent care services, as well as coverage of behavioral health and dental services.

The organization served approximately 16,800 residents and visitors to the Lower and Outer Cape in 2016.
