SANDWICH – A water main break in Sandwich village caused a mess yesterday, and also postponed a planned paving project.

Crews were paving on Main Street when the break happened. The town water department was called to the scene and was forced to shutdown service to a number of buildings in the area.

As a result, the paving project now needs to be pushed back a few weeks. Main Street remains open to traffic.

Meanwhile, the department of public works will be putting the final top course of pavement on Beale Road today.

Construction is planned for Boardwalk Road and Robin Road on Friday. Both roads will be closed during the construction. The Boardwalk Road work will be done in the morning, with work planned for Robin Road in the afternoon.
