
PLYMOUTH – From Plymouth Police and Fire: Fire Chief Neil Foley and Police Chief Dana Flynn report that the Plymouth Police and Fire departments responded to a serious motor vehicle crash with an entrapped driver on Plympton Road.
At approximately 11:50 a.m., Plymouth Police and Fire responded to the area of Plympton Road (Route 80) and Carver Road near the West Plymouth Square shopping plaza for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash. Upon their arrival, crews found that an SUV and sedan had collided head-on.
The driver of the sedan, an adult male, was heavily entrapped and had to be freed by firefighters using hydraulic extrication tools. The entrapped male driver was taken by Brewster Ambulance to a landing zone at the Plymouth Municipal Airport, where he was transported via medical helicopter to a Boston Trauma center.
The driver of the SUV, a juvenile female, was transported to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Plympton Road is closed until further notice while first responders work to clear the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Plymouth Police Department.
