Sea Turtle Open House Comes to Wildlife Sanctuary

WELLFLEET  – Those interested in learning more about sea turtles will want to keep Saturday November 25th open.

On that day from 11 until 2, the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary will hold a sea turtle open house.  Those attending will learn why turtles strand on Cape Cod and get a behind- the- scenes look at rescue efforts.

The event will include touch tables with turtle shells and skulls, a tour of the wet lab, where incoming turtles are taken, a photo exhibit and a craft table for kids.

There will also be special programs such as “family-friendly creature features”.

The day will also include a “Sea Turtle Patrol” walk from 2 until 3:30, and a screening of the documentary “Saving Sea Turtles: Preventing Extinction” from 4 to 5.
